Internet Explorer 6 or higher

1. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options. The Internet Options dialog box appears.
2. On the General tab, in the Home page text box, type: http://www.refdesk.com. (If you subscribe to Ad-free refdesk, use http://my.refdesk.com).
3. Click Apply, and then OK

Firefox - Windows

1. From the Tools menu select Options. The Options dialog box appears.
2. On the Main tab, in the Home Page text box, type: http://www.refdesk.com. (If you subscribe to Ad-free refdesk, use http://my.refdesk.com).
3. Click "OK."

Firefox - Mac

1. From the menu bar at the top of your screen, click Firefox and select Preferences. The Options dialog box appears.
2. On the General tab, in the Home Page text box, type: http://www.refdesk.com. (If you subscribe to Ad-free refdesk, use http://my.refdesk.com).

Chrome

1. Click the wrench icon on the browser toolbar. Mac users: If you don't see the wrench icon, go to the menu bar at the top of your screen and click Chrome.
2. Select Options (Preferences on a Mac; Settings on Chrome OS).
3. Click the Basics tab.
4. In the "Home Page" section, click on the "Open this Page" radio button and enter http://www.refdesk.com (If you subscribe to Ad-free refdesk, use http://my.refdesk.com).
5. To see your homepage whenever you open Google Chrome, go to the "On startup" section and select "Open the home page."

1. Open Safari and in Safari menu select Preferences.
2. From the Safari menu select Preferences. The Preferences window appears.
3. On the General tab, in the Home page text box, type http://www.refdesk.com. (If you subscribe to Ad-free refdesk, use http://my.refdesk.com).
4. Click the red Close button on the top left hand corner of the General tab.

Opera 8

1. Click the Tools menu.
2. Under tools, click Preferences.
3. In the window that pops up, make sure the General tab is selected.
4. In the section marked Home Page, enter http://www.refdesk.com. (If you subscribe to Ad-free refdesk, use http://my.refdesk.com).
5. Change the Startup dropdown to "Start with homepage".
